| Another day hike with Ilana and Ilana. We started where Ha-hazbani (AKA Nachal Senir) meets the Jordan River, and finished at Fort Yesha. |
| Fort Yesha (AKA Fort 28) is a strategic British fort handed to the Arabs in 1948, who used it to as part of a siege of the local Jewish towns. It took three attempts to liberate it. The first failed because one of the two armored vehicles used in the attack fell to a ditch and the surprise was lost. The second failed when the team installing explosives at the fort's wall was discovered. The fort was finally taken by a three pronged attack in May 1948. A total of 28 Israelis died in these battles. |
